Mission
Gwinnett is the largest fire service district in the State of Georgia for the number of legal jurisdictions (15) under one fire department, and protects a population of over 800,000 people covering an area of 437 square miles.

Serving this area with fire protection and emergency medical services is the mission of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. The Department meets its challenge with a force of 735 superbly trained men and women who are proactive in their approach to the challenges and citizen-oriented in their focus.

Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services has a history of excellence in all areas of service. The Department has designed its divisions and strategically placed its stations to facilitate excellent responses to community needs.

Whether it's fighting fire or investigating their cause, administering emergency medical services, teaching prevention strategies or inspecting new structures for code compliance, Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel work diligently to serve the residents of Gwinnett County.
